ULTIMATE GOAL: Protection of pedestrians and vehicular traffic from landslides.
BACKGROUND: 19th and early 20th century slate waste deposits affected by weather errosion.
CHALLENGE: High altitude work - almost daily above normal cloud base.
HIGHLIGHTS: Provide and anchor gabion cages fitted with hand placed slate waste at foot of slate heap - laid parallel to access tracks.
